Watkins Glen to up-state NY and the Thousand Islands

The pix of all the bikes is from the motel we stayed at in Watkins Glen. We made a few new friends last night and I guess we chose the right place to stay. This morning we headed north along the edge of Seneca Lake in NY. It's the deepest of the finger lakes and the water temp today was a whopping 50 degrees. That made for cool start to the morning. We had beautiful weather and some great country roads as we wound our way thru central NY. We found a small harbor along the eastern end of lake Ontario and found a great brew-house for lunch. We had some of the best French onion soup and salad (the beer wasn't too bad either). Great pix of Annette gathering the cheese off the soup. The entrance to Alexanderia Bay welcomed us to the Thousand Islands. We missed the last boat cruise around the islands by minutes so we decided to head back there first thing tomorrow morning. Tonight we are hodging at Ft Drum Army Post (Home of the 10th Mountain Division). Great rooms and we can't beat the price. Annette took a pix of some beautiful flowers. We wanted you to know we are taking the time to "stop and smell the roses" Tomorrow we'll add some more pix of the islands and the trip along the northern border as we head to New England. We miss you all but we really miss our kids and grandkids. God is soooo good!!!
