7 June 2011

All, we have arrived in Niagara Falls, New York after a few days in Michigan with my Aunt Kay and Uncle Skip. The weather there was beautiful, cool in the 50's at night and 70's during the day. The ride to Michigan from St Louis took us thru the much Amish farm land. Seeing the horse and buggy's and the women in long dresses and bonnets was a culture shock. We saw the hard work and beginnings of what would soon become the "waves of amber grain". It looks like a much simpler life but I'm sure all those guys on the huge tractors would exchange one day for one on Crab Island. We had a great visit with the family in Michigan but we were ready to hit the road last Sunday. Note to any other riders out there, you can not ride a motorcycle thru the Winsor tunnel into Canada. Some rule from 25 years ago. Apparently I did not get the memo. We took a less traveled ride accross Canada and followed route 3 which took us along Lake Erie. What a beautiful, cool ride. So we are in NY till this weekend, and then off to New England. I added a few pix of Michigan. Up-date you all soon. PS.  So blessed to hang with family and have our daughter Rebecca here with us.
